Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Accommodations

Overview: Test takers seeking accommodations must submit their requests and have their accommodations approved by Electronic Testing Service (ETS) accommodation specialists before their test tin can be scheduled. Accommodations requests should be submitted every bit early as possible, especially for an alternate exam format. Documentation review takes approximately half dozen weeks, after your asking and completed paperwork are received. If additional documentation is needed, one time submitted, it may take another vi weeks until the review is complete.

Accommodations for the GRE:

  1. To begin the process, submit your request online, to ETS by email, or past postal service.
    •  If applying through the ETS account portal, yous will need to set upwardly an ETS account here.
    • If applying by post or through electronic mail, follow these steps outlined in the ETS website.
  2. Decide which accommodations y'all need. View the personal items that do not require accommodations here.
  3. Consummate the testing accommodations request form that is located on your ETS portal.
  4. Gather your disability accommodation paperwork. Here is a list of the criteria for documentation.
  5. Create an engagement with URI DSS. The Accommodations Request Form that requires a DSS Signature starts on page twenty. Y'all are required to bring the ETS application filled out. You may apply using the ETS business relationship or y'all can email or postal mail the materials in your application.  You may find the application at the bottom of the 2018-2019 Bulletin Supplement for Examination Takers with Disabilities and Health-Related Needs.
  6. Submit your completed forms and documentation to the ETS disability accommodation specialists. Directions for how to do so are here.
  7. Annals and submit payment once your request is approved. Exercise not register to take the examination until ETS contacts you about approval.
